Grandpa Beck’s Golf

Description

You and your fellow golfers are out playing the back 9, and like any good game of golf, the player who emerges with the lowest score wins! To begin, players are dealt a 3×3 grid of golf cards, two of which begin face up. These cards consist of red negative strokes (-1 through -4) and black positive strokes (3, 6, or 7, for example). Alone, these cards add strokes to your score; but when placed in a matching set of 3 (horizontally or vertically), they subtract from your strokes, decreasing your score. Adding a twist are wild Mulligan cards and yellow Hazard cards, which always add 10 to your score. Each turn, players draw a new card (or a discard) and replace one of their 9 cards with it. The replaced card is then discarded. The goal is to create as many matching sets (and get rid of as many Hazards!) as possible before someone has a completely face-up grid of 9 cards, at which point one last round is played. For 2-5 players. 30-minute playtime.
